A New Beginning

I started blogging a couple of years ago as a way of sharing with a small group of friends. We kept our blogs private to keep the spammers out and because some of what we blogged about was, well, private. For many reasons we have moved on and I haven't posted anything here for over a year.
In the meantime, however, I've developed a blog habit-I read many blogs. I especially enjoy seeing the pictures that are a large part of many blogs. I've been taking pictures since I was 8 years old when my uncle gave me a Brownie camera. Recently I've shared some of my photos with new friends who have encouraged me to seek a wider audience. After considering trying my hand at greeting cards, I decided instead to start blogging again as a creative outlet.
For now my goal is a weekly photo post, with or without a written component. I want to encourage feedback and constructive criticism, so the blog will be public but comments will be moderated. I will not be a platform for spammers, so don't even try.
Here, for what it's worth, my first photos from my December Holiday in New York. Enjoy!

Hey there!
GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
...and thank you for visiting our blog! It's always nice to make new friends. I'm glad you decided to start blogging again and I understand those first concerns about 'spam', but they are quickly allieviated.
I'd like to encourage you and say 'just break-out!'. I have found - in the 18months of blogging- that blogging is more than just the blogs. It's a network of people who become bonded in cyberspace and ironically become an incredible support structure in tough times. We have been overwhelmed in love and support at those times too.
Of course, it is also a platform for our common creativity.
Take care and good luck.
I look forward to seeing your posts.
