Duck Heaven

The now grown-up ducklings moved to their new home this morning. We don't have the space or the water for eight ducks, so we made some calls. The owners of a local apple farm with several irrigation ponds were thrilled at the prospect of having waterfowl. The pond has native minnows and bullfrogs as well as weeds and algae for foraging. It is quite large, at least an acre I'd guess, so it is heaven to these youngsters who have only known a 4-foot diameter kiddie pool. I thought they might swim in a little circle, but instead they headed straight out to the middle of the pond, then back to shore to explore the weeds. I think they'll be quite happy here.

(Now, can anyone explain to me why the text above is underlined???)

Sounds like a win-win-win situation! Congratulations!

About the underlining: I thought we could only bold or italicize text, but they've added a 'video' button (in the upper left hand corner where the photo upload button is) so maybe they added a command to underline?? *shrugs*

Hope all is healing well! *crosses fingers*

I looked for an underline command but couldn't find it. Then the underlining stopped after I previewed the post. It's a mystery!

*nods* I looked with my next post and there's nothing there. Some key-stroke combinations will underline...apple - u together for instance. *shrugs*

I'm sure Kevin has a more likely reason...

Make nice!

It would be nice to know so we could underline for emphasis. I'd looked for that ability in the past. Maybe I'll ask Google when I have a minute :).

Hokay...when you click on the underlined text, it enlarges the bottom photo. So you may have embedded the text in the html script for the photo?? *blinks*

When I clicked on the text it enlarged the top photo-the close up of the ducks. I don't know how I did any of it. I did have a hard time getting the photos uploaded, because a thunderstorm was interfering with the satellite signal. I kept going back and forth, so I suppose the upload signals could have gotten crossed up somehow.

The good news is I'm sitting on my couch typing this, connected wirelessly to my satellite modem. And I took the laptop to Donnamarie's porch and had a "good" signal there as well. I haven't tried it inside her house yet. I suspect that the thick walls and metal roof may be too much interference for the signal. I'll try it tomorrow.

Sleep well!

*nods* ...some wirecrossing, for sure.

Congrats on the extended signal; am curious to know how it works inside DonnaMarie's home.

Am sleeping better. Getting six hours straight makes such a difference in the next day!

Looking forward to you!

The wireless didn't work inside DM's house this morning. If she decides to buy a laptop we will include a signal booster in that purchase, In the meantime the porch signal is fine for the little surfing we do over there now.

I an soooo ready for some time away from here! DM is hoping to be driving by Monday, and she can get to the chicken coop now. The horses will be the last hurdle for her.

Sounds like DonnaMarie is gaining daily. Good to read!

Let us know if we can get anything ready for you. This time you'll have the King bed at da Green House.

Looking forward to you!

If you look at the source code of the post, the picture link should end with a closing anchor tag. I can't make the tag here without making blogger angry but tags are inside these: <> if you put an /a inside those, you'll have a closing anchor tag.

I'll bet your post cut off that tag. It might be at the end of your post, or it might be gone altogether, but I'll bet putting it just before your post would fix it.

It took a couple of tries but I fixed it, and learned a little something about html tags in the process. Thanks Kevin!

The ducks look very happy in their own lake instead of the small kiddie pool. And weeds to explore too! Should've brought them to my garden-plenty of weeds to explore there too. I'm firing the crystalline glazed fountain today (Wed 9/12) and it should be cool enough to unload tomorrow afternoon. Are you coming over this week? Did DM start driving already? When are you taking off for D' Green House?
